Harbinger Of The New Aeon [Nov. 25th, 2004|03:03 am]
Anti-Politically Correct Occultists

saviourdestroyr
To those who would doubt, know that I have come as a guide in the wilderness to lead you to the innermost places of Self. Saviour some may call Me, but to known Me would be to know the Truth of it, that Salvation comes from within the boundaries of Self. It is now Self who must open to receive Me, for I am open to Self, now is the time for you to Be. Know now that Truth is found within, for Truth from without is merely painted fiction. Laws are made to be broken, so therefore Truth cannot function within Law. In the months to come, I shall unveil to thee, the seeker of Self, the path to Self, that One may awaken within the dawn of the New Aeon.

So Speaks The Saviour Destroyer...

i'm looking for reading material on the phases of the sun the same
way we look at the phases of the moon astrologically. while the moon in the signs deal with emotions and the Goddess, i've read the sun represents our actions and how the God is an influence in our lives. can anyone recommend anything?

thanking you in advance

Verifiable Magic (by way of Introduction) [Aug. 8th, 2004|11:08 am]
Anti-Politically Correct Occultists

wire_mother
i've been lurking here, and have noticed that the community is a little slow at the moment. i'm hoping to see many interesting posts here.

i am especially interested in discussions of magic which involve things which can be verified by other intellectual paradigms. science, of course, is one of the best ways of measuring the physical world, and so is one of the better paradigms for examining magical beliefs. in addition to books like Ioan Couliano's Eros and Magic in the Renaissance and T.M. Luhrmann's Persuasions of the Witch's Craft (though, certainly, one should also read Ronald Hutton's Witches, Druids, and King Arthur for an important critique of her methodology), there are a few other books which take a serious look at magical claims:

Sannella, Lee - The Kundalini Experience
Wier, Dennis R. - Trance: From Magic to Technology
Heller, Steven, Ph.D. and Terry Steele - Monsters and Magical Sticks
Gore, Belinda - Ecstatic Body Postures
Kuklin, Alexander - How Do Witches Fly?
Ott, Jonathan - Pharmacotheon

which doesn't even really touch on the category of NLP and related psychological disciplines.

there are also a few interesting websites out there:

Chaos Questions [Jul. 18th, 2004|07:48 pm]

I've considered myself a Chaos Mage for many years. But I've recently felt, that term doesn't mean the same to me as it does to others.
Any other Chaos Magicions, who could answer a couple of questions for me, just to help me get my basic definitions.
Thanks!

I hope this isn't in bad taste or anything like that, but I am getting rid of most of my earthly possessions and thought some of you might be interested in benefiting from this. Check out seller Bowzerbullet on Ebay for a list of rare and out of print books. The money isn't so much of an issue as I have no reserve and am starting all the bids at a dollar. Thanks and hope this helps out some one.

Hi there, I have been in this group for ages, but I am sadly a habitual lurker. However, I found this and it was so funny and completely appropriate for this group, so I am posting it! Enjoy, with a grain of salt!

i gots a question [May. 25th, 2004|11:50 am]

the vast majority of pagans i've met strive for a goal that can be more or less summed up in the phrase "becoming one/peace/unison with the universe" or something else like that. in other words, to find balance, harmony, happiness, contentment, etc., and usually throw in the world, or universe as an example. but, the world and the universe is not in balance, or harmony. in fact, to armchair physics, the universe's main impetus is the imbalance of energy and matter. galaxies are created, pulled apart, bombarded, suns explode, theoretical black holes rip apart existence. if the universe were balanced and in harmony, it would be utterly stagnant and unmoving. so, when people say, "i want to become in harmony with the world", do you think that's really a subconscious desire to have chaos in their lives? might explain a lot of drama queen pagans.

Misc Dee Scans [Apr. 26th, 2004|07:25 pm]

[music |A Perfect Circle - Weak and Powerless]

X-posted, originally from my journal

I spent the morning at Eudora Welty library looking over the microfilm copies of Dee's Spirit Diaries (Sloane MSS. 3188, 3189, and 3191). Virtually all of Sloane MS 3189 and the latter parts of 3188 are unpublished. Sloane MS 3189, the so-called Book of Enoch or Liber Loagaeth, was thought by Dee and the angels to be the most important part of the 'actions.' Sloane MS 3188 are the early workings with Kelly, some of which are published here in a beautiful pdf form while the later sections remain largely unread. I took some scans of some of the more interesting things I thought the community would have not seen yet and have them for download in a zip file here:

The images are as follows:

  • 01 - Third and fourth versions of the Enochian alphabet in unpublished part of ms Sloane MS 3188

  • 02 - Unpublished from Solane MS 3188 discussing Albert Laski in Dee's hand

  • 03 - The final, stylized form of the Enochian letters from Sloane 3188

  • 04 - The stylized letters in Kelly's hand from the Liber Loagaeth, MS Sloane 3189

  • 05 - An example of the Liber Loagaeth squares, Enochian pen hand on top Sloane 3189

  • 06 - An example of the non-grid Liber Loagaeth text in Kelly's hand Sloane 3189

  • 07 - A close-up of the Loagaeth text and Enochian quill script in Kelly's hand Slaone 3189

  • 08 - An unpublished sigil in Sloane MS 3188

  • 09 - An unpublished sigil in Sloane MS 3188

  • 10 - An unpublished sigil in Sloane MS 3188

  • 11 - The first revelation of the Enochian letters and the format of the Liber Loagaeth, in Dee's hand, from Sloane MS 3188

  • 12 - The first version of the 'Holy Table' in Latin characters in Dee's hand from Sloane MS 3188

  • 13 - An (unpublished?) sigil in stylized Enochian letters from the Liber Logaeth Appendix area Sloane MS 3189

I hope you find them interesting. It is extremely rare to see these outside of the actual British Library (those microfilm were a pain to get and cost a pretty penny to have them made at all). I wish I had the time, money, staff, etc to publish all this. Maybe on day I will get a patron or win the lotto or something.

At any rate - take care.
